Modified

As I was thinking of another post to make, I figured I would dedicate one to one of my obsessions. Body modification. I currently have 5 tattoos, 9 piercings, and half of my hair is dyed violet. (It has been red, blonde, pink, purple, blue, teal, orange, black, about anything you can think of). My tattoos, piercings, and experiments with my hair have helped me in a way not many understand. I have dealt with self esteem issues for as long as I can remember, and the art I have put on my body has helped me feel more comfortable with myself. I still glow with pride every time some stranger stops me in town and compliments my tattoos or hair. I have always been fascinated with body modification, and now that I have been able to enjoy it for myself, I couldn't be happier. The tattoos have also proved..therapeutic, in a way. Two of them I got done at a very rough time in my life, and the process of getting them done was a bit of a healing process for me. Each one has special meaning to me and I will cherish them for life.

Shown here is my anti-eyebrow and my lip ring. I also have 9/16 stretched lobes, tragus done on both sides, nostril, and others that I'm not sure can be mentioned for my class blog. (:

Right after my newest tattoo was done. Quote by Hunter S. Thompson. Art/text style influenced by Ralph Steadman.

My graduation present to myself. My baby <3

My first tattoos, my sparrows. And hint of my purple hair XD

I also have a memorial piece on my foot dedicated to someone dear to me who passed away in 2010.

Skills and Hobbies

I have never really known what to say when someone asks me about skills I have. I don't have anything extraordinary that I can do, I suppose. I'm very good at figuring out problems, though. Either with friends and giving life advice, or teaching myself how to edit code on my computer's theme to make it how I want. I'm very observant and can read others very easily. I believe I'm fairly decent at writing and little crafty projects. I play around with photography and editing, but nothing too serious. I'm really good with people and can keep a calm, level head in stressful or confusing situations.

When it comes to hobbies, I have a few I can easily think of. I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. From Jill of the Jungle on floppy disk to Mario Bros. on NES, gaming for me started early on. I still game daily, and see no sign of giving it up.

(I have that shirt, by the way ^_^)

I also love to curl up with a good book. Anything by Hunter S. Thompson, Ned Vizzini, Chuck Palahniuk or Ellen Hopkins are always a good read for me.

Now I must say that I am a huge movie buff. I will watch about anything but I have always had a love of anything horror, zombie-related (I love anything zombie related: books, comics, tv shows, movies, music, anything) or dealing with the supernatural. I also love a lot of cult-classics and dark comedies. I'll list those in the profile area.

That's honestly about it. I'm not that interesting, sorry to admit it. I go to concerts or other events once in a while, but that's about it.

Employment?

Sadly, I have never been employed. I would love a job, and am currently in the process of finding a part-time job that will work around my class schedule. A few years ago, I volunteered at this wonderful organization in Columbus called PAWS, a non-profit animal shelter. At first, I simply fed, walked, and played with the canine residents (PAWS was not able to keep other animals at this time, but now can at their new facility). As time went on, I worked with customers, did paperwork, filing, computer work, and miscellaneous other things.

Education

                                                            Hello! My name is Morgan.

I'm 20 years old and I have just started my third year at Columbus State University. I'm majoring in Secondary Education-History. Which means that I will be a high school history teacher. Hopefully I'll be teaching something in the European history category since that's the most interesting subject to me. During this current semester, I am taking this Intro to Information Tech class. I honestly thought it would be like most computer intro classes and treat the student like they couldn't even turn on a computer if their life depended on it. I'm thankful to see that, while some of the information is already known to me, it looks like there are still things in this class to learn.

Before starting at CSU, I graduated from Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia in 2010. I did not participate in any sports and did not get into any clubs until my senior year when I joined the Psychology Club. Psychology has always been fascinating to me so it seemed an appropriate choice. (Sadly, the club never really met except to take the club's picture so not much was achieved from that.)
